Program Conditions

  1.  General conditions for start, duration and termination by means of cancellation of   the Agreement
    1. The agreement comes into effect at the moment of application for participation in the SURINAM AIRWAYS LOYAL WINGS PROGRAM (SALWP) by registering through the web site www.flyslm.com and completely filling out the registration form.
    2. The agreement is entered into for an indefinite period. SURINAM AIRWAYS will make every reasonable effort to notify participants in advance of the eventual termination of the program.
    3. Each party can at any time cancel the contractual agreement by written notice. The General Conditions will remain into effect even after termination of the contract.
      1. SURINAM AIRWAYS retains every right to terminate the SALWP at any arbitrary moment. Such a termination will have no effect on airline tickets obtained before the termination of the program. The wings will expire (six months) after the mailing of the termination by SURINAM AIRWAYS.
      2. The participant is also entitled to terminate the agreement at any arbitrary moment. At reception thereof SURINAM AIRWAYS will terminate the participation in the program.
      3. At termination of the participation in SALWP, credits cannot be cashed in.
      4. SURINAM AIRWAYS retains the right to control at any arbitrary moment SALWP accounts. If the control shows any evidence of irregularity or violation, the participant can be, without prior notice, excluded from further participation in SALWP or the processing of free airline tickets, upgrading, extra baggage or any other benefit until the irregularities or violations have been examined.
      5. Participants can be disqualified for participation in SALWP if they:
        •    fail to adhere to the rules and conditions;
        •    provide a wrong representation of information (incl. flight information) in connection with the program;
        •    make improper use of the complementary wings and/or benefits;
        •    have wrongfully obtained wings.
      6. In case of fraud, disqualification, violation of the SALWP conditions or the conditions as described in SALWP publications, or violation of the provisions of ARTICLE 1.3e, all Wings will be canceled and cancellation of the issued and unused free tickets will take place.
    4. Availability, Modification and loss.
      All complementary wings and benefits are subject to modifications and availability.         SURINAM AIRWAYS retains the right to modify:
      • Program rules and stipulations
      • Terms and conditions
      • Free airline tickets
      • Flight schedules
      • Special bargains, at any arbitrary moment without prior notice
    5. SURINAM AIRWAYS is not liable for any loss or damages as a result of termination, modification or payment of any benefits or facilities offered by parties having an agreement with SURINAM AIRWAYS and over which the latter has no control.
    6. If a participant has not collected any wings within the period of 1 (one) year, SURINAM AIRWAYS is entitled to terminate unilaterally the participation.
    7. Based on the activities of the participant a wings’ survey is established and will be at the disposal of the participant. SURINAM AIRWAYS retains the right to modify the time interval at which the wings’ survey is updated.
    8. At the decease of a participant SURINAM AIRWAYS will close the relevant account at  reception of the death certificate.
  2. Registration
    1. Depending on local legislation or parental approval or approval from the guardian (if applicable) the program is solely open for natural persons from 2 years old on. Associations, foundations and/or other legal bodies are excluded from participation.
    2. Each participant can only submit one application for participation. Consequently he has only on record in the SALWP. If there are two records registered to the same name in the file, the record with the lowest amount or the fewest wings will be deleted and all the wings collected on that record will be transferred to the original (first) record, unless determined differently by SURINAM AIRWAYS.   
    3. Participation is a personal matter and can neither be transferred, left behind, assigned, sold or combined with a record from another person, business or association, irrespective of the fact that this person, business or association participates in the program, nor combined with another record from the participant subject to different stipulations announced to the participant.
    4. Any eligible natural person wishing to participate in the SALWP must completely fill out his own registration form via the web site. Anybody that applies for participation in the SALWP, is expected to have examined and agreed to the General Conditions.
    5. Each natural person older than 2 (two) for which SURINAM AIRWAYS has accepted the application will receive an individual account, a membership number and a pin code, giving him/her access to the internet and all remaining services offered within the SALWP.
      For questions about the account the membership number will be requested. The pin code is only known to the participant. The participant is responsible for the use of his/her pin code and will not communicate it to third parties.
         6.  SURINAM AIRWAYS retains the right to decline applications of persons not satisfying the conditions for participation in the SALWP.
  3. Personal information
    1. Personal information from participants in the SALWP will be processed and used for the SALWP in accordance with the relevant Surinamese legislation and rules concerning the protection of information
    2. Personal information will be used by SURINAM AIRWAYS for the proper implementation of the SALWP. SURINAM AIRWAYS is entitled to use the personal information for marketing purposes, communication or the offering of services and goods. SURINAM AIRWAYS will not make the personal information of an individual available to third parties without prior consent of such an individual.
    3. If the participant does not wish to receive offers from SURINAM AIRWAYS, the participant can lodge an objection against the processing of his personal information by notifying in writing the Call Center. For further information the participant is referred to the SURINAM AIRWAYS Privacy policy at www.flyslm.com
    4. Modification personal information
      The participant is responsible for supplying personal information. You are obligated to inform the SURINAM AIRWAYS call center for each modification of personal information like the name, email address, etc. 
    5. Each request for modification of the name or other personal information must be accompanied by a legally supporting document.
    6. Failing to supply in time a modified email address can result in the stopping of the mailing of information.
  4. How to save.
    1. Participants can save wings from the moment of registration in the program
    2. Participants can only save wings by making use of flights from the valid SURINAM AIRWAYS flight schedule.
    3. Traveling on one of the following types of tickets are NOT entitled to wings according to the SALWP:
      • Free flight tickets
      • ID – (SA) - tickets
      • Charter flight tickets – flight tickets issued on charter flights
      • Flight tickets issued as compensation of a passenger’s claim
      • Flight tickets/parts of flight travels freely issued to other airline companies
    4. Each participant can control through his own Loyal Wings account if his/her wings have been included. Wings are awarded 3 (three) to 4 (four) weeks after the flight took place.
    5. SURINAM AIRWAYS can debit the record of a participant who wrongfully obtained wings.
    6. Canceled flights due to external circumstances over which SURINAM AIRWAYS has no control, including but not limited to bad weather conditions, work disputes or safety reasons, are not eligible for the awarding of Wings.
    7. All wings and the resulting free tickets must be saved and used in accordance with the instructions and guidelines in these General Conditions.
    8. Wings can only be saved if the participant has actually made the flight himself. Unused, counterfeit, fraudulently obtained, lost, expired or refunded flight tickets are not eligible for wings.
    9. The participant can only save wings for the flights made by him, even if the participant has bought tickets for somebody else or several tickets on the same flight. In case of a booking on another flight due to unforeseen circumstances, a participant saves the wings for the flight the participant had originally booked and not for the flown route.
    10. Children from 2 (two) to 12 (twelve) years old are eligible for 50% of the wings and can only use them for a free ticket, provided enough wings have been saved. An adult is NOT eligible for the credits saved by a child.
    11. Notwithstanding the fact that SURINAM AIRWAYS will ascertain/ take care of granting the right amount of wings, it is the responsibility of the participant to keep the needed documents like boarding passes and flight tickets in order to be able to hand them over when claiming wings afterwards.  
    12. Subsequently claiming wings is only possible when the flight has taken place and the wings have not yet been credited after 3 (three) weeks.
    13. Retreoctive claims of wings is only possible up to 6 (six) months after the flight.
  5. Rules and conditions  for cashing in and usage of the Wings
    1. At a sufficient number of wings, a participant can apply through his account for a free airline ticket, upgrading or apply for extra baggage or any other benefit available at that time.
    2. The issuing of a free airline ticket takes place personally in the first resort.
    3. Only the participant can apply for a free airline ticket. The participant can apply for a free aitline ticket in accordance with the stipulations and conditions with the program. In case the participant is legally incompetant (2 (two) – 12 (twelve) years old) the application for a SALWP free airline ticket must be signed by the legal guardian or representative of the Participant.
    4. Free airline tickets are, depending on the airline ticket, mailed to the email address supplied by the participant, or have to be picked up at the nearest SURINAM AIRWAYS ticketing office after necessary costs are paid. The processing time for a free airline ticket, being part of the SALWP, is 3 (three) weeks.
    5. With the application of a free airline ticket or other benefits the wings will be deducted right away, starting with the oldest wings in the account.
    6. If a person other than the participant is collecting the free airline ticket this person must be able to submit a piece of identity from the participant, as well as a signed power of attorney carrying his/her original signature and wherein the collector of the airline ticket is authorized. This procedure can be changed or modified at any time by SURINAM AIRWAYS
    7. Free airline tickets are valid for single or return trips, however wings will be deducted per trip.
    8. Free airline tickets are valid for a period of 3 (three) months from the date of issue. If the free airline ticket is not used up entirely, validity will start from the date of issue of the original airline ticket.
    9. All free airline tickets must be used on routes that are flown by SURINAM AIRWAYS. When the free airline ticket, upgrading or extra baggage is issued wings will be deducted from the account.
    10. All flight segments that are part of the same free airline ticket must be booked at the same time
    11. Bookings with regards to the free airline tickets are subject to the availability of seats on that flight.
    12. Completely “open tickets” are not eligible for participation in the SALWP. An “open” segment (route) on a free airline ticket is allowed.
    13. An adult traveling on a free airline ticket together with a child younger than 2 (two), has to book with the airline that issued the free airline ticket, an airline ticket for the child in accordance with the applicable rates of the relevant airline. 
    14. Free airline tickets are not transferable and cannot be used by other airlines than the airline mentioned on the airline ticket, unless decided differently by that airline. 
    15. Lost, stolen or expired airline tickets cannot be returned, replaced or extended.
    16. Free airline tickets are applicable only based on valid conditions. The participants are solely responsible for paying all surcharges, government taxes and other government and semi-government charges applicable on the airline ticket.
    17. The participants (passengers) are additionally solely responsible for the charges inherent to excess baggage.
    18. Free airline tickets cannot be used for medical transport, baby seats, hostess guidance of children or an extra seat.
    19. A participant having the required amount of wings can apply personally for a free airline ticket ,extra baggage or an upgrade
    20. Requests for an upgrade has to be made latest 10 (ten) workingdays before the desired flight.
    21. Requests for excess baggage must be requested latest 5 (five) workingdays before the flight.
    22. The Callcenter will inform the Loyal wing member if or when request is confirmed.
    23. Handing over credits to another participant or combining credits from different participants in order to obtain free airline tickets, upgrading, excess baggage or any other benefit is NOT authorized.
    24. Each participant must obtain the required amount of wings to be eligible for  free airline tickets, upgrading or any other benefit.
    25. Wings earned must be used within 24 (twentyfour) months.
  6. Complaint procedure
    1. If a participant has a complaint with regard to the usage of a free airline ticket, upgrading or extra baggage he/she has to notify in writing the Call Center within 21 days after usage of the free airline ticket.
    2.  If the wings you thought to be entitled to are not mentioned on your account you can request those through the “Missing wings” option.
    3. At the processing of the missing wings SURINAM AIRWAYS retains the right to request copies of the airline ticket and/or boarding pass.
    4. Notifications by telephone of irregularities with regard to your credits are NOT accepted. SURINAM AIRWAYS is not responsible for the reception of letters, and modified or invalid documents will not be accepted.
    5. Claims with regards to wings must be accompanied by all relevant documents and have to be submitted 3 (three) months, after notification of having obtained the right for wings in question, to the Call Center.
