TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR PARAMARIBO – SURINAME

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the government of Suriname has implemented new entry requirement for passengers.

Update: October 22, 2021

Entry requirements:

1* Valid Travel documents (including VISA for visa-obliging persons)

2* A negative  SARSCoV-2– test result.
Only Fully vaccinated passengers  may present together with their proof of vaccination a negative SARSCoV-2– RT PCR test result no older than 72 hours upon arrival of the flight  OR  a negative  SARS-CoV-2 ANTIGEN test result no older than 24 hours upon arrival of the flight in Paramaribo.  Please note: No GGD-test for the passengers from the Netherlands. Children younger than 12 years are exempted for taking the test.
Not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated passengers who have permission to travel, need to present a negative SARSCoV-2– RT PCR testresult no older than 72 hours upon arrival in Paramaribo. Please note: No GGD-test for the passengers from the Netherlands, No QUICK TEST results or ANTI BODY test results. Children younger than 12 years are exempted for taking the test.

3* Proof of fully Vaccination for COVID-19.
Fully vaccinated passengers need to provide a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing the person is fully vaccinated at least 2 (two) weeks before arrival in Suriname. For Fully vaccinated passengers who can provide the proof there is no quarantine measure in place.
Persons not fully or not vaccinated are obligated to quarantine in accordance with the applicable regulations of the Ministry of Health and need permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation to travel to Suriname.
The vaccination status does not apply to persons under the age of 18 years.

4* Proof of Quarantine Accommodation
Not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated passengers need to provide proof of a confirmed accommodation booking (no reservation) of at least 7 days at a registered SHATA hotel or accommodation. Fully vaccinated passengers are exempted from quarantine.

5*  Entry Permit (Attestation)
Not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated passengers who need to travel to travel to Paramaribo – Suriname for essential or repatriation purposes need an entry permit (Attestation). The attestation request for an entry permit can be submitted via the emailaddress  conza@gov.sr  to the attention of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and International Business and International Cooperation Suriname.
Fully vaccinated passengers are exempted from applying for the permit.

6* Non-Residents must have and submit Travel Insurance with COVID-19 coverage.

Registration Obligation:
Not fully or not vaccinated passengers must email their negative SARSCoV-2– RT PCR test result, Proof of vaccination (if applicable), the confirmation of the SHATA accommodation or the statement from the Ministry of Health in case of home quarantine is permitted, and the travel insurance (for non-residents), not later than 72 hours before departure via quarantainehotel@gmail.com.
Fully vaccinated passengers are exempted to register and need to present the proof of vaccination, the negative test result and other requested documents.

If you are not complying with the above entry requirements, you will not be accepted on the flight to Suriname.
